His movies did have some of the best music. I know he was pretty much done with the movie making, but those Brat Pack movies were HUGE for me in the '80s... 'cause ya know, I was a sappy teenage chick then, so Andrew McCarthy was absolutely dreamy and Molly Ringwald was my idol.
I really don't think anyone's come close to making great movies about teenagers the way Hughes did... RIP.
